Delia Melancon Lambert, a devout Catholic and loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, February 4, 2019 at the age of 93. She was a native of Paulina, LA and a resident of Convent, LA. She is survived by her children, Lois Deslattes (Lionel), Ruth Walker (Phil), Roy Lambert (Joyce), Ann Marchal (John), and Kevin Lambert (Laura). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lori Simon (Charles), Lionel Deslattes, Jr. (Monica), Angela LeBlanc (Tim), Johnny Walker (Jessica), Christina Grandt (Justin), Chanel Anderson (Matt), Crystal Hymel (Jay), Sandy Lindsey (Brian), Lana Simon (Scott), Becky Scioneaux (P.J.), Tracy Michel (Scott), Darren Marchal, Amy Melancon (Heath), Jennifer Millet (Todd), Leslie Fisher (Greg), Shelly Roussel (Brennon) and 41 great-grandchildren, 3 step great-grandchildren; Sister, Julia White; Brother, Antoine Melancon and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Lawrence Lambert; parents, Walter J. and Olympe Vicknair Melancon; brothers, Louis, O'Neal, Clarence, Walter (Buck); Infants, George, Numa, Floyd and Lloyd Melancon; Sisters, Elia Lambert and Elsie Abney and one great-grandchild. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Daughters and St. Anne Altar Society. The family would like to gratefully acknowledge Father Vincent Dufresne and Father Alec Sheldon for the prayers and blessings bestowed upon their beloved mother. They would also like to give special thanks to the staff and nurses of St. James Parish Hospital, Chateau St. James and Amedisys Hospice for their loving care and compassion of their mother. Visitation will be held at Rose Lynn Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will resume at Rose Lynn Funeral Home on Thursday, February 7, 2019 from 8:30 am to 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Convent, LA with burial in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred.
