A man with a huge sense of humor, love for his family and an avid Louisiana fisherman and hunter. Dennis was born on November 7, 1952, and passed into Heaven to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on September 13, 2018. After 3 years in the U.S. Army, Dennis attended school in Mobile, Alabama, where he met Frances Morgan, his first wife. They moved to Baton Rouge and had one child, a daughter, Renee. Dennis worked as a Piping designer at several plants and consulting firms in the Baton Rouge area for 34 years. He was retired for 8 years due to illness, but continued to take very good care of himself and met many new friends at his health club where he entertained with his gift of gab. He enjoyed many summers with his grandchildren when they came for Camp Paw Paw. He is survived by his daughter Renee Pitre Robnett; and four grandchildren, Makenzie, Caiden, Morgan and Callen Robnett; his wife of 17 years, Karen LeMoine Pitre; stepdaughter, Christine Wolf Williams (Drew); and step-granddaughter, Jane Wolf Williams; his brother, Louis Pitre (Lisa); nephews, Jerry and Jonathan Pitre. Predeceased by his mother, Nettie Autry Pitre; father, Bryan Pitre; paternal grandparents, Marion Key & Gaston Pitre; and maternal grandparents, Eva Mae & John Henry Autry. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Oaks Lutheran Church, 15160 S. Harrell's Ferry Road, Baton Rouge, on September 29, with visitation at 9:00 am and service at 10:00 am. Hugs to his friends, Kenny Pace and Donald Richard, and mother-in-law, Mary Lou Freiberg, for helping to take care of him over the years.

Our sympathies go out to all of the family. Dennis was quite a character. There was never a dull moment when you were with him or visiting on the phone. Many many fun memories and fishing stories. He knew those waters like the back if his hand!! Our son Ausin enjoyed those fishing trips too!! He will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved him. So long buddy.
