Donald Gene Padgett, a native of Mobile, AL and longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA, ran into the arms of Jesus Monday, February 8, 2021 at 4:00 pm at the age of 68. He is survived by his wife, Joyce and two sons: Matt (Kylie) and their son Brandon, and Scott (Heather) and their daughters, Maddie and Charlotte. He is also survived by his brothers Wayne Padgett (Janet), Ervin Padgett (Paula) and Jerry Padgett. Pallbearers are John Aikens, Paul Salvant, Dwight Boeneke, Randy Nolan, Blake Mire and Scott Padgett. Honorary pallbearers are Donn Williams and Walter Howard. Don was a devoted servant of Jesus Christ first and a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a remodeling contractor in the Baton Rouge area for over 40 years. As a follower of Jesus Christ a Bible was never far from reach. He was an avid guitar and banjo player and loved fishing. Don loved spending time with his grandchildren, who knew him as "Pops." This gentle giant was dearly loved by all who knew him and will be very much missed but our comfort is knowing he is with his Savior Jesus and he is now well! Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, in Baton Rouge, from 9-11am Tuesday, February 16. Funeral services will begin at 11am. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. We love you, Pops!
