(Mrs. Lambert H. Romero, Sr.) A resident of Baton Rouge, she died on December 30, 2018 at the age of 95. A native of Hodge-Jonesboro, LA, she lived in Monroe for several years where she graduated from Ouachita Parish High School in 1940; and then Northeast Junior College in 1942. She was a graduate of LSU in 1944 with a BS in Education, and School of Library Science in 1947. After graduation she worked at the Junior College Library, served as librarian at Winnsboro High School; and after her wedding, as assistant librarian at Ouachita Parish Library. She joined the State Library staff and served as a demonstration librarian in Lafourche and Beauregard Parishes, when libraries were being established throughout the state. Later she was librarian at our Lady of the Lake School of Nursing and retired as hospital librarian in December 1985. Mrs. Romero and her husband, Lambert, were for many years active in Civitan Clubs working with Special Olympics and other projects of the clubs. They were also actively involved with "Gumbos" at St. James Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Lambert, her father and mother Hal and Alice Duncan, her brother and his wife William David Duncan and Argie S. Duncan, her niece Mary D. Drinkwater, her brother-in-law and his wife, O.B. Romero and Betty L. Romero, her father and mother-in-law, Ogden O. and Irene L. Romero and her son-in-law, Barry D. Anklam. She is survived by her daughter, Dottie R. Anklam of Baton Rouge and her son L. Holt Romero, Jr. and his wife, Cindy of Denham Springs. Also survived by much loved nieces, nephews, cousins and their spouses. Visitation will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 8833 Goodwood Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA on Thursday, January 10, 2019 beginning at 10:30AM followed by a Memorial Service at 11:30AM. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a charity that touches your heart, or to St. Luke's Episcopal Church or to Cat Haven, 11130 N. Harrell's Ferry Rd, Baton Rouge LA 70816.
