Naurite passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 73. She was born on October 31, 1944, to the late Ishie and Billie Kilman. A 53-year resident of Baton Rouge and a native of DeRidder, La., she worked for the United States Post Office for 27 years. Besides family, music and laughter were her two favorite things. Naurite is survived by her devoted husband of 21 years, Gerald Devillier; her children Shawn Broussard of Baton Rouge, La., Troy Broussard and wife Michelle of Broussard, La., and Tina Broussard of Baker, La.; stepdaughter Dinee Devillier of Ponchatoula. La.; granddaughter Katie Canella and husband Michael; stepgrandchildren Michael Wascom, Miranda Babin, and Madison Babin; 2 sisters Gladys Keeton of Denton, TX, and Debra Morris and husband Bo of Williamsburg, VA; 2 nieces; 1 nephew; 5 great-grandchildren; and her faithful dogs Elvis, Babs, and Bijou. Naurite found comfort in her faith, filling the room during her last days with her favorite two songs, "I Can Only Imagine" by MercyMe and "If God Is Dead" by The Mighty Clouds of Joy. At peace with her Lord and Savior, as well with entering her eternal resting place, her family is respecting her wishes to not have a service.
