Douglas Meadors, born September 14, 1947, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus, his Lord and Savior on February 12, 2019. A lifelong resident of Denham Springs, he is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Paula McCrary Meadors, daughters and sons-in-law Lauren and Chad Melton and Rachel and Kevin Bradley; grandchildren Eli, Belle, and Lilah Melton, and Jesse and Georgia Bradley; mother-in-law Maggie McCrary; brother Ernest Meadors and wife Mary Jane, sister Sandra Windham and husband Gene, brother George Meadors and wife Kitten, sister Marla Digirolamo and husband Sam, sister-in-law Jackie Valentine, sister-in-law Terri Myshrall and husband Dave; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Mattie Meadors, father-in-law Paul McCrary, brother Fred Meadors, brother-in-law Lawrence Valentine, and beloved dog Coco. Doug was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served in the United States Air Force. After his service, he joined the Carpenters Union Local 1098 where he retired after 25 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his five grandchildren who were the light of his life. Memorial contributions may be made to Live Oak United Methodist Church (LOUMC). Visitation will be held at LOUMC on Friday, February 15, 2019 from 12:30 PM until funeral service at 2:30 PM. Interment will follow at LOUMC cemetery. "There is a hello after goodbye…"
