Gerald Joseph Waguespack, also known as "Pap" and "Wag", was born in Paulina, LA and a resident of Gramercy, LA. He passed away surrounded by his loving family on September 7, 2021. He was 79 years old. Gerald is survived by his wife of 58 years, Vivian Duhe Waguespack; children, Wade (Danielle) Waguespack, Brent Waguespack, Tracy Martin, RaeLynn Waguespack (Michael Allen); his grandchildren, Fabyan Martin, Sydney (Dylan) Sing, Brianna (Michael) McDonald, Brennen (Blair) Waguespack, Kayln (C.J.) Edler, Sunny Waguespack, Christopher, Claire and Caitlyn Callais; his precious great grand-children, Drake Sing, Jude and Baby Waguespack, Easton Edler, and Baby McDonald; sisters Verlyn (Lenny) LeBlanc, Ruth (Donald) Snyder; and sister-in-law, Deborah Waguespack. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Hilda Waguespack; mother-in-law and father-in-law, William and Irma Duhe; brother, Warren Waguespack; son-in-law, Dennis Martin; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law. Gerald began his career as a Produce Manager at Winn Dixie and as a Pan Floor Operator at Colonial Sugars. After 30 years of service, he retired from Dupont-Dow Chemical. He was a former member of the Volunteer Gramercy Fire Department, Lutcher Jaycees, Lutcher/Gramercy Lions Club, the Lutcher High School Quarterback Club, and a committed Adorer at the Lutcher Chapel with the Catholic Cluster of East St. James Parish. His favorite pastime was cheering on the LSU Football and Baseball programs. Since the age of 12, he took to the road as a faithful Tiger fan and was ecstatic having had the opportunity to attend and witness several football National Championships and baseball College World Series Championships. Gerald was an avid collector of LSU Tiger sports memorabilia. Gerald adored his family and relished in spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Lutcher, LA on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in the St. Joseph's Catholic Church Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for Masses in Gerald's honor or memorable donations to St. Peter Chanel Catholic School, 2590 LA Hwy 44, Paulina, LA 70763.
