Gladys B. Thompson James, 81, transitioned peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, February 10, 2021. Gladys worked as a pre-kindergarten and elementary education teacher for over 30 years. She will be dearly missed by her husband Jerry James; two daughters, Judith Jackson and Alicia James; two granddaughters, Jamecia Jackson-Tobias (Kevin) and Jaelyn Jackson; great-grandson, Kaison Tobias, and godson, Tarus Burrell (Kandice). Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Greater New Galilee Baptist Church, 9185 Wilbur St. Baton Rouge from 1:30 - 3:00 pm. Due to COVID restrictions, a private service for immediate family and friends will be conducted by Dr. Mark A. Litt, Senior Pastor at 3:00 p.m. Funeral services entrusted to Miller & Daughter Funeral Home.
