Haywed "H.P." Comeaux, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018, at the age of 92. He was a native of Labarre, LA, grew up in Lakeland, LA, and later became a resident of Baton Rouge, LA. H.P. served in the Marine Corps during World War II. After his discharge, H.P. worked for the Army Corps of Engineers in Morganza where he met his future wife, Joyce. They were married in 1952 and eventually moved to Baton Rouge. He worked at the Postal Service for 30 years during which he received numerous awards. He retired from the Postal Service in 1991. During his retirement he enjoyed fishing at his camp in Bell River and gardening at The Hill (his family property in Lakeland, LA). He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonce Comeaux Sr.; Estelle Blanchard; sisters, Noisey Purpera, Oville Aucoin, Mable Boudreaux Andermann, Lena Pourciau Plaia, and Judy Comeaux; brother, Lester Comeaux. He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce of 66 years; daughter, Bridget Berrigan and husband Kenneth; son, Vince Comeaux and wife Julie; grandchildren, Valery Berrigan Hymel and husband Jason, Tony Berrigan and wife Annie, Zac Comeaux, Shane Courtney and wife Amy; great-grandchildren, Hudson Hymel, Fischer and Ben Berrigan, Bentley Comeaux, Noah, Claire, Luke and Stella Courtney; his sisters, Maria Debetaz and husband Joe, Annie LeBlanc; brothers, Ulisse Comeaux, Lee Jospeh Comeaux and Lydia, Leonce Comeaux Jr. and wife Rose. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Amber Terrace. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation, which will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA, on Thursday, September 13, 2018, from 10 am until the time of funeral services at 12pm. Burial will immediately follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
