Iris ""Jeanie"" Duplessis Gautreau passed away on February 14, 2021. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Kern James Gautreau. Mother of Rafe Gautreau (Shannon), Blake Gautreau (Rachel), Cole Gautreau (Jennifer) and Nicol Skaggs (Logan), grandmother of Brynnen, Landrey, McKenna, Allie, Reece, Tyler, Alex, Pyke, Kyler, Remi and Rylan. She is survived by nine siblings; Winnie West (the late John Jr.), Sabas Duplessis Jr. (Pat), Johnny Duplessis (Linda), Paul Duplessis (Ronda), Libby Moran (the late Willis), Ada LaVoie (Paul), Aaron Duplessis (Helen), Roger Duplessis (Susan) and Belva Crain (Danny) and she is preceded in death by six siblings; Harry Kling Jr., Rose Fontenot (Florien), Ella Duplessis, Millie Gaudin, Dolores Cosper (Wilburn ""Heavy""), Ruby Duplessis and her parents Sabas Sr. and Leontine Duplessis. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends. She will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved her. Jeanie was a member of the VFW Auxiliary for many years. She was an avid reader and loved to listen to music. She never knew a stranger and would welcome anybody in with open arms. The most important things in life to her were her family and friends. Spending time with her family would always bring a smile to her face. Her smile and her unique laugh will truly be missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales on Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 8:30 am till 9:45 am.
