A retired welder for Johnsmanville in Natchez, Miss., for 40 years and a resident of Buffalo Community, Miss., he died Friday, July 31, 2009, at Wilkinson County Senior Care. He was 90 and a native of Wilkinson County, Miss. Visiting at Newman Funeral Home in Woodville, Miss., on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting continues at Corinth Church of Christ, Woodville, on Sunday, Aug. 2, from 2 p.m. until religious service at 3 p.m., conducted by Brother Bernard Waites. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Woodville. He is survived by four sons and their wives, Kay F. and Chrystal Carter, of St. Francisville, Isaac A. Carter Jr., of Woodville, A. Boyd and Cindy Carter, of Hattiesburg, Miss., and W. Thomas and Sherry Carter, of Woodville; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac W. Carter and Mary C. Carter; wife, Mary Leake Carter; three brothers and a sister. Pallbearers will be Ike W. Carter, Casey B. Carter, Tim Morris, Eric Morris, Bill Greer, Dudley Carter, Charles Smith and Billy Wayne Freeman. Honorary pallbearers are Leroy Smith, W.V. Carter, Julius Carter, the Rev. Murry "June" Hux, Rick Hux, Eddie Gerald Davis, George Perry Adams, and members of Caladonia Creek Hunting Club. He was a lifelong member of Corinth Church of Christ.
