Jack Harrison Cutrer of Baton Rouge passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021, at the age of 89. He was born on February 15, 1931 in Hattiesburg, MS, to June and Ruby (Rushing) Cutrer. He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Mary Faulk Cutrer; son, Steven and wife, Cathy; son, Jim and wife, Tricia; daughter, Stacy and husband, Randy; daughter-in-law, Joanne Cutrer; brother, Hebron; sisters, Dorothy Howell and Judith Cutrer; 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Jack Jr.; brothers, Willie June, and June and John; sisters, Jeanette Jenkins and Cherry Hilborn. Jack graduated from Baton Rouge High School in 1949 and served in the U.S. Air Force where he attained the rank of staff sergeant. He received his B.S. in accounting from LSU and spent his professional career at State National Life Insurance Company where he retired as president and CEO in 1994. Jack was a member of Jefferson United Methodist Church and involved in many organizations over the years, including the National Association of Accountants, Red Stick Kiwanis, Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce, United Givers Fund, Trinity Union Masonic Lodge #372, Baton Rouge Consistory, and The American Legion. Throughout his life, Jack lived every day to enjoy his family and all of life's blessings. He was known for his barbecued chicken and other outdoor culinary delights. He loved to travel anywhere in the U.S. to take his family camping for weeks at a time. He was also an avid LSU fan. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Sunrise on Siegen for the care Jack received. The funeral service will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd in Baton Rouge, on Friday, January 8th, at 2 pm, led by Rev. Leslie Stephens. Visitation begins at noon. Burial at Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Shriners Hospital for Children or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
