Jackson "Jack" Taylor Bowden, 75, native of Leesville, LA and resident of Denham Springs, LA, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018. Jack proudly served his country in the United States Army. He proudly served his Lord though his membership of First Baptist Church, Denham Springs. Jack worked for many years as an Operator and Supervisor with Borden Chemical and Plastics before retiring. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church, Denham Springs, on Tuesday, Aug. 14, from 10 a.m. until service at 1 p.m., officiated by Bro. Leo Miller. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearer will be Herb Whitman. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Wanda Sue Bowden; children, Chrystal Bowden Schexnayder and husband, Danny Jr., Gina Thurston and husband, Rollie, Charles Alton Bowden and wife, Latricia, Calvin Taylor Bowden and wife, Tammy; grandchildren, Taylor Bowden, Trey Schexnayder, Seth Bowden, Thomas Thurston, Nick Bowden, Justin Gathings, Caleb Bowden, Nicole Thurston Young and husband, Shane, Ashley Thurston Jenkins and husband, Parker, Keri-Ann Schexnayder, Kaye-Loni Bowden, Reagan Bowden, Kennedy Bowden, Angelina Bowden, Briana Bowden Arnold, and Morgan Bowden; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings and their spouses, Arnold and Lori Basco, Harold and Regina Bowden, and Tina and Keith Thompson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Verla and Odie Basco; father and stepmother, Lowell and Bonnie Bowden; sisters, Frances Davis and Barbara Jean "Polly" Basco; and grandson, Rollie Joseph Thurston.
