Jim passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, December 1, 2018 at Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge. He was 74. A resident and native of Plaquemine, Jim retired as a drilling foreman from Shell Oil Company with 40 years of service. Visitation will be at Wilbert Funeral Home on Monday, December 3, 2018 from 10:00am until service time at 2:00pm. Interment will follow at Grace Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Evelyn Platt Grant; two daughters: Tammy Lynn Grant and Stacie Denise Grant and partner Reneé Lopez both of Plaquemine; one son: James "Jimbo" Grant and wife Stacie Lynn Grant of Plaquemine; 2 brothers: Donald Grant and Betty Ruth Grant of Mesquite, TX, and Max and Barbara Grant of Bolivar, TN; 1 sisters in law: Peggy Powell Grant of Plaquemine; 3 grandchildren: Alyssa Disalvo, Jessica Grant and Jaime Grant. 1 great grandchild: Edie Disalvo; special niece that he considered a daughter: Frankie Grant. He is preceded in death by his parents: Marshall and Frances Davis Grant; Sister: Betty Grant Traigle; Brothers: William Curtis Grant, Charles S. Grant, Carl F. Grant and Marshall Grant; Sisters in law: Mary Grant and Joyce Grant. Pallbearers will be: Jake Albert, Sidney "Moon" Gourgues, Jerhett Albert, Tyler Albert, Kevin Grant and Michael Boutwell.
