Janice Landry, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at Sunrise at Siegen on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at the age of 80. She was a resident and native of Plaquemine, La. Visiting will be at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Plaquemine on Monday, February 11, 2019 from 8am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10am. Interment will follow at Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine. She is survived by her children, Craig Landry and wife Julie, Becky Cavalier and husband Mickey, Laurie Navarre and husband Buddy, and Stacy Landry; grandchildren, Philip, Eric, Nolan and wife Torie, Clark, Ben, Kristen and Lizzie; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Brady; brother, Jack Laurent, Jr. and wife Pucky; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, George Landry Jr.; grandson, Cody Navarre; parents, Cyril Louis "Jack" and Cecile Songy Laurent; sister, Margie Besson and husband Dewey; and nephew, Mike Laurent. Janice enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was an excellent seamstress who spent much of her life hand sewing clothing for her daughters and granddaughters. She also enjoyed traveling and playing cards with her friends. Special thanks to the Terrace Club care staff at Sunrise on Siegen for caring for her with compassion and dignity in her last years.
