She worked hard and received her Master's in Social Work at Louisiana State University. Upon completing her degree, Jean went to work for the State of Louisiana. After 31 years of dedicated service, Jean retired as the Director of Treatment and Rehabilitation Services for the Office of Youth Development. After retiring, Jean filled her days serving her family, her church and her community. She was an active member of St. Paul's Catholic, serving during mass and visiting the home bound members to pray or bring holy communion. Jean was also an officer with her neighborhood association and a weekly volunteer at Cancer Services. Jean had a great and deep love for her family. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Maurice A. Roan, Sr; her son Maurice A. Roan, Jr and his wife Shadelia T. Roan; her daughter Angela K. Roan; her two grandsons, Johnathan Q.
