Jean McMullen Coughlin, age 95, passed away peacefully on Dec 28, 2018 surrounded by her family in her home in Praireville, LA. Born in Cambridge, IL on March 30, 1923, Jean served as a Navy Wave in WWII. She was married to the Rev. David J. Coughlin, Jr., former rector of Trinity Episcopal Church, Baton Rouge, LA and also former rector of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, Lafayette, LA. and who predeceased her in 1993. Affectionately known as "Granny" to her family, she is survived by her four children: David Coughlin III (Louise), Sharon Seaman (Skip), Michael Coughlin (Michele), Patricia Coughlin (John). She is also survived by five loving grandchildren: Gaines, Michael, Lauren, Kaylyn, Carey, Kyle as well as six great-grandchildren: Gaines, Ellie, Parker, Tiernan, Jocelyn, Lumen. Granny was a big LSU fan, an active reader, she loved needlework, gardening and was an avid bridge player in earlier years. She was a devout Episcopalian. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Baton Rouge for their loving care & kindness. A private memorial service will be held at a later date
