Jeanne Brooks, age 76, long time resident of Walker, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 13, 2021. Jeanne was a woman of faith and had a love for life that shone for all to see. She was a lady of many talents including cosmetology, sewing, crafting, baking, making jewelry, and photography. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and the ladies organization Sisters by Heart. Jeanne was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend she never met a stranger and was adored by all who knew her. Jeanne had an infectious sense of humor, if she was laughing it's assured that everyone else in the room was too. She was a great listener and was optimistic and encouraging to all that shared their stories with her. Jeanne had incredible work ethic and was accomplished in several trades. The majority of her adult life she was self-employed; starting with her wallpaper business, then moving to cosmetology. She became a licensed cosmetology instructor, which began her career as a hair dresser. The latter part of her career as a hair dresser was spent at a nursing home where she was a compassionate caregiver to the residents that she served. Her love for working extended into her retired life. She was pleased to take part in her son and daughter-in-law's business, always happy to help in any way she could. Jeanne was a member of Celebration Church in Satsuma and loved to praise and worship the Lord with her church family. She led an admirable life filled with joy and made sure to share that joy with everyone she encountered. To know Jeanne was to lover her. She lived free-spirited, loved whole-heartedly, was loved tremendously and will be forever missed. She was preceded in death by her Father, John Carl Ryan and Mother, Beatrice Kehoe Ryan. She is survived by Daughter, Regina Brooks; Son, Greg Brooks and his wife, Michele Brooks, and their three children; Taylor, Kaitlyn and Ryan Brooks. She is also survived by life long friend and God mother to her children, Annette Atkinson, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 400 Westchester Place, Slidell, LA. on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 3:00 P.M.
