John a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend; passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the age of 81. He retired from Wildlife and Fisheries after 17 ½ years; was a resident of Maringouin and a native of Krotz Springs, La. John was a US Air Force Veteran who served for four years. Visiting will be at Sharon Baptist Church, 9433 Section Road, Port Allen, La 70767 on Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 5 to 9pm and will resume on Friday, September 14, 2018 from 8am until religious services at 11am, conducted by Bro. Chad Bolfa and Bro. Matthew Beisel. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of almost 62 years, Mary Elizabeth Hall Disotell; daughter, Elizabeth Disotell Tims and husband Terry; son, John "Bubba" Disotell, Jr. and wife Tonya; grandchildren, Lacey Disotell Templet and husband Robert "Robbie", John "Johnny" Disotell, III and wife Kaylie, James Tims, Jr., Adam Disotell and wife Briana, Louis Tims, Bryan Disotell, Justin Gates and wife Brittany, and Zachary Gates; great grandchildren, Logan, Kynzie "Baby Girl" and Kadyn "KK" Templet, Adelyn "Addie", Katherine "Kate" and Cohen Disotell, Trevor and Mason Disotell, Dawson Tims, and Bryson Gates; and brothers, Willie Deshotel and James Disotell. Preceded in death by his son, David Disotell; grandson, Paul Tims; parents, Sylvester and Willie Adaline Henson Disotell; and twelve brothers and sisters. Pallbearers will be John Disotell, III, Robert Templet, Jr., James Tims, Jr., Adam Disotell, Louis Tims, Bryan Disotell, Justin Gates and Zachary Gates. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Cochran, Brent Henry, Barry Huggins, David Kent, Nathan Speights, Robert Speights and Terry Swanson. John loved people; he enjoyed hunting and fishing but mostly spending time with his soulmate. John loved all company, both friends and family. As a Deacon of Sharon Baptist he faithfully devoted his time to his church and spreading God's word. John will be greatly missed by all those who loved and knew him.
