John, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away Monday, July 9, 2018, at the age of 70. He was a retired Civil Engineer from DOTD after 33 years; resident of Erwinville and a native of Oberlin, La. Visiting will be at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lakeland, on Saturday, July 14, 2018, from 9:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12pm, celebrated by Father Todd Lloyd. Entombment will follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judith "Tut" DeCuir Moore; children, Melissa Hanks and husband Kent, Darrell Moore and wife Anna, and Melanie David and husband Travis; grandchildren, Eleyna, John and Andrew Hanks, and Sara Moore; and sisters, Diana LeBlanc and husband Lester, and Mary Ann Neal and husband Stephen. Preceded in death by his parents, Preston Joseph and Morna Ruth Guillory Moore. He enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren, fishing and was a meticulous woodworker.
