Jules Joseph Cazayoux Jr., 96, a native and resident of New Roads, died at his home at 2:45 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010. He was born April 5, 1914. He was retired from Southern Cotton Oil Co., where he was employed for more than 45 years, of which 30 he served as manager. He also worked for Archer Daniel Midland Co. for 10 years as a consultant. He is survived by two sons and their spouses, Glynn and Peggy, and Donald and Ann; two daughters, Mary Nell Cazayoux Dicharry and husband Danny, and Theresa Cazayoux; daughter-in-law, Dianne Cazayoux Romano; sister, Alice Cazayoux Peterson and husband Jesse; grandchildren, Christy Cazayoux Hunt, Patrick Cazayoux, Don Cazayoux, John Cazayoux, Elizabeth Cazayoux Marcotte, Charles Cazayoux, Celeste Cazayoux St. Amant, Michael Dicharry, David Dicharry and Jim Dicharry; stepgrandson, Billy McNeese; mother of Dianne and family friend, Claudia Harvey; 13 great-grandchildren and six nieces and nephews. Visiting at St. Mary's Catholic Church, New Roads, Saturday, Oct. 16, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at noon, with the Rev. Bob Stine, celebrant. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Ida Belle Glynn Cazayoux; son, Major Lawrence Cazayoux; parents, Antonia Grosserand Cazayoux and Jules J. Cazayoux Sr.; sister and brother-in-law, Clara Cazayoux Kolb and Elmo Kolb. The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Helm and the Pointe Coupee Hospice nurses for their support and the excellent care that was given to our dad. We also want to extend a heartfelt appreciation to his wonderful caregivers, June Mecom, Margie Braswell, Davis James and Edith Smith.
