Ecclesiastes 3:1-2. "1. To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2. A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;" Larry Joseph Davis was born on May 16, 1958 to the union of Reverend Leon Davis Sr. and Alice Miles Davis. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in his early teens and was baptized by the late Reverend P.H. McQuarters. He had a musical gift and played bass guitar for the family group, "The Davis Family Singers." His livelihood consisted of working for the Police Jurors in Pointe Coupee Parish for over 15 years, and he continued to drive trucks for various companies until his retirement. Larry leaves to cherish his memories, his daughters April (Condell) Sullen, Tracy Davis, Tammy Davis, Tomika Hubert, and Tiffany (Dedrick) Jones; his sons Ricky Romas, Tony Davis, and Kenneth Hubert; brothers Rev. Dr. Lionel (Katherine) Davis, Alvin (Deidra) Davis, Leon (Minnie) Davis, Earl Davis, Donald "Deno" Davis, and Freddie Davis; sisters Lesia (Ronald) Lundy, Joyce Davis, Dorothy McCoy, Barbara Davis, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandparents, Rev. Aaron Miles Sr. and Lucinda Miles, paternal grandparents, Phillip Davis and Molly Davis, one brother and four sisters. Visitation will be held on Friday January 8, 2021 from 12:00-2:00 pm at 152 Hwy. 3050, Morganza, LA. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 pm at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery, 14905 LA Hwy. 417, Batchelor, LA. Service will be officiated by Rev. Dr. Lesley Draper III.
