Lawrence A. Franz, age 64 passed away at Metairie, LA on Monday, December 4, 2017. Son of the late John E. Franz and Irma Schmitt Franz. Brother of Linda Franz Marks (Terry) and the late Richard Franz. Uncle of Lisa McGill, Terry Jr. and Shawn Marks. Mr. Franz was a New Orleans native, and was with South Central Bell Telephone for 36 years. He was a graduate of Holy Cross High School Class of 1971 and the University of New Orleans. He had resided in Baton Rouge, LA the past 15 years. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of Notre Dame Hospice and St. Anthony's Healthcare for their devoted service. Also a special thanks to John Maddox and Billy Seeser for their thoughtfulness and many acts of kindness. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass from the Metairie chapel of THARP-SONTHEIMER –THARP, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd. at 43rd St. on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 12:00 o'clock Noon, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Fr. Frank Candalisa will celebrate the Mass. Interment following in LakeLawn Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be expressed online at www.tharpsontheimerfh.com.
