Ms. Lela Eudel Smith, born July 21st, 1926, died peacefully in her home on June 21st, 2016, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at the age of 89. Eudel is survived by one son, August (Gus) Wales; grandchildren, Adam Wales and Megan Wales; and great-grandson, Luke Verret. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph James Pullam and Lillian Noble; an infant son, Christopher Bruce Wales; her first husband, Warren Paul Wales; and her second husband, Tas Leroy Smith. She graduated from Pride High school. Visitation is scheduled for 9:00 A.M. Monday, June 27, with a memorial service to follow at 10:00 A.M. at Green Oaks Memorial Park and Funeral Home at 9595 Florida Blvd. A reception will follow at her home at 5823 Hickory Ridge Blvd. Her grandson, Adam Wales will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Eudel's life. The family would like to give a special thank you to her caregivers Alice, Cynthia and Latonya Vessel, Anita Green and Gloria Boston for their service and support during Eudel's final months. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer that donations be made to Modern Hospice at 42078 Veteran's Avenue, Suite B, Hammond, LA 70403.
