A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, Lillian Zeringue Audiffred passed peacefully from this world into the hands of God and the Blessed Virgin Mary to whom she prayed the rosary every day of her life. Lillian was surrounded by her loving family at The Blake at The Grove at the time of her passing. Lillian was born August 12, 1923 in Vacherie, Louisiana. She was the fourth of five daughters born to Sidney Joseph Zeringue and Maria Anelie Breaud. Her life was devoted to the caring of her family while enjoying entertaining, cooking, sewing and crafts. Lillian met the love of her life, Frank, in high school. They were married October 24, 1945 upon Frank's return from service in World War II. After making their home in Baton Rouge Lillian and Frank became devout members of St. Gerard Majella Catholic parish helping with many activities at both the church and school. They were blessed with four children and their spouses: Sherry Herringshaw (Ed), Stephen Paul (Arlene), Francine (Wayne) and Jeffrey (Suzanne). She had seven grandchildren: Alicia Triche, Andie Triche Henderson (Jeff), Tracie Audiffred Rikhoff (Bobby), Adam Herringshaw, Ryan Herringshaw (Jackie), Bryan Audiffred (Julianne) and Amie Audiffred Besselman (Travis). She was also blessed with eight great grandchildren: Cody and Cullen Rikhoff, Brianne and Caleb Besselman, Bennett and Clayton Audiffred and Beau and Anne-Claire Henderson. Lillian's strong faith guided her all her life in all things. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters and their husbands: Noelie Roussel (Cadie), Earline Weber (Odell), Ida Barre' (Kliebert) and Eliza Oubre (Maurice) and her great grandson Tanner Stephen Rikhoff. Services will be held Wednesday February 13, 2019 at St. George Catholic Church with visitation from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM with the funeral mass to follow at 11:00 Am celebrated by Father Gregory Daigle. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Ryan and Adam Herringshaw and Bryan Audiffred along the the spouses of her granddaughters, Bobby Rikhoff (Tracie), Travis Besselman (Amie) and Jeff Henderson (Andie). The family wishes to express their thanks to Carmen Yenni, Sherell C. Holmes and Jackie Brue for their devoted and loving care. Memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent DePaul to honor Lillian.
