Linda Fay Chelette Hebert passed away on May 16, 2018, at 9:22am at her home in St. Amant surrounded by her family and loved ones. Linda was born January 24, 1962, and was a native of Gonzales. She leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 27 years Steve Hebert of St. Amant; a son Jason Oubre and wife Jenna of Branson, MO. Two beautiful granddaughters Cassidy Peche and Jocelyn Fay; four sisters, Carolyn Chelette of Gonzales, Cindy Babin (Richard) of Alamogordo, NM, Jackie LaPorte of Gonzales, Lisa Landry (Bryan) of Mandeville; and two brothers Gene Chelette and Brian "BC" Chelette (Sheila), both of Gonzales. Special niece Mandy Clark of VA. Numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna Lee and Elta Chelette and mother-in-law, Marie Hebert. Linda will always be remembered as an avid animal lover. She had a heart as big as the world and was good as gold. Since a very young age, she would always take in strays and give them a loving home. Linda was affectionately known as "Punkin" and "Linda Lou" to her family and friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to Linda's Father-in-Law Jimmie Hebert and his family, Dwayne (Wendy) Darren (Maureen) and Lynette Starkey (Robert) for their love and support. A special thank you to the staff of Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, St. Elizabeth Hospital ER Dept. and ICU Unit, Canon Hospice, and Church Funeral Services for their care and kindness. Visitation will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant, LA, on Saturday from 9:00 am till 11:00 am, with a mass of Christian burial immediately following and entombment thereafter at Holy Rosary Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be David Starkey, Curt Starkey, Nathan LaPorte, Adam LaPorte, Lee Kilgore, and Robert Chelette. In Lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, Baton Rouge or the Animal Humane Society. Services by Church Funeral Services.
