Lois Martin Roark, 92, of Baton Rouge, LA, after a brief illness, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph, Baton Rouge. She was born in Clarks, LA, to James W. Martin and Mary Ann (Ferguson) Martin. She retired from the Louisiana Department of Employment Security. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Perry Crowell, and husband, James A. Roark. Lois is survived by her daughter, Trynette Crowell of Baton Rouge; sister-in-law, Nancy C. Martin of Mountain Home, ID; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Ann (Ferguson) Martin and James W. Martin; siblings, Mildred Phonzie Martin, William Debbs (Bill) Martin, Katherine (Kat) Martin Kinnison, Adaltha Mae (Ada) Martin Richard, Hayes Martin, Gilbert Martin, James Hardy (Bud) Martin, James William (J.W.) Martin Jr. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Central, LA, on Saturday, September 15, 2018, from 10 a.m. until Memorial Service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that family and friends bring a can of food for the City of Central Food Bank.
