Funeral Services were held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, February 25, 2021 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Lucien Paul Dupuy, 86, who passed away on February 17, 2021. Deacon Cody Miller served as celebrant for the funeral services. Burial was in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Dupuy, a resident of Butte La Rose, was the son of the late Landry Dupuy and the former Clema Mayeux. Lucien graduated from Baton Rouge High School. In 1952, he joined the Marine Corps and served with C Battery, 1st BN, 11th Marine Regiment in the Korean War. Lucien then went to work for GE Supply, where he worked for over 30 years until his retirement. Lucien was an avid outdoorsman, beloved resident of Butte La Rose and a founding member of the "CIA". He loved all sports and cooking for family & friends. Lucien was a man of many friends and will leave a lasting impression upon all he encountered. He is survived by his children, Steve J. Dupuy (Janis), Stacey D. Holtzclaw (Tom) and Sonya D. Thibodeaux (Kelly); grandchildren, Melonie Dupuy (JB), Brenna Holtzclaw, Hart Holtzclaw, Heather Hughes Martin (Chris), Amber Hughes and Jamie Herrington (Lee); great-grandchildren, Hailey, Ayden, Kyra, Alyssa, Addison, Conlan, Nathan, Noah, Weston, Owen and Natalee; step-children, Karen Garbarino deLaunay (Paul) and Tony Garbarino (Judy); grandchildren, Charlie Cole, Lori Cormier, Amy Cole, David Zeller, Steven Zeller, Jacob Cole, Sarah deLaunay and Renee deLauney. He was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Lois Hayes Dupuy; granddaughter, April Dupuy Mizell; step-daughters, Sonja Garbarino Cole and Collen Garbarino Zeller; parents Landry Dupuy and Clema Mayeux; siblings, Grace Mayeux Hernandez, Mac J. Mayeux, Albert J. Mayeux, Buven "Frenchie" Mayeux, Emily Mayeux Dier and Landry Aaron Dupuy. Visiting hours were observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 9:00 am to 11:45 am. A Rosary was recited on Wednesday at 11:30 am. Pallbearers were Charles Ray Dupuy, Charlie Cole, Steven Zeller, Dave Fernandez, Sr., Dave Fernandez, Jr. and John Wayne. Honorary Pallbearers were Ned Chargouis and Chuck Wheatley. The family would like to thank Dave and Sandy for their compassionate and faithful care during Lucien's time of need. Personal condolences may be sent to the Dupuy Family at Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
