Marlene "MeMe" Hebert Matthews went home peacefully to Jesus on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the age of 89. She was born in Plaquemine, LA on January 28, 1931. Marlene will be lovingly remembered by her children, Sherman Mark (wife, Kay), Lisa Wynn, Leslie Matthews Coker, Timothy Jerald, Marlene Matthews Behrnes (husband, Billy), Mitzi Matthews Cowart (husband, Wally), and brothers Henry Hebert, Jr. (wife, Kathy) and Robert "Bob" Eno Hebert (wife, Diane). She will be greatly missed by her, 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Sherman Jerald, parents Henry and Gula Percle Hebert, sister Doris Hebert Humphries, brothers Gerald David and Wayne Jude, and grandson Sherman Ryan Calvin Matthews. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Victory Harvest Church. Visitation will be 10:00 am and the service will begin at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Marlene's honor to Victory Harvest Church or Victory Academy.

Marlene was a sweet, religious and caring person. She will be missed by all. My deepest sympathy to all of you. I'm sorry I couldn't attend the services, but please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Love. Beverly Percle

I did not know that Marlene had died. I know I haven't seen Pat Messina lately, but she usually keeps me informed of the family. I am Marlene's 3rd cousin (from Aunt Leah David). Sidney was my Dad.

I remember so well when we met Marlene many many years ago. What a blessing she was and a mighty warrior for God. We are praying for your family and all of the Grands. She is now reunited with her sweet husband and others that have gone before her.

Aunt Marlene was such a beautiful, sweet, loving and funny woman. A role model for her family. I know, as all our family knows, she is in the arms of God and Uncle Jerry. I will miss her. Praying for peace and acceptance for our family.
