Melvin Clark, born on February 8, 1926 in Vick, Louisiana, to the late Hattie Clark and the late Tommy Clark, passed away at age 92 on July 9, 2018 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He served in the Navy in World War II and was a watchmaker by trade. Melvin had many interests especially singing and playing the bass fiddle and keyboard. He had fond memories of playing in bands with his brother and other family members. In later years he played the keyboard, and with friends provided entertainment at nursing homes. Melvin was the loving husband of Alice Irene Clark. He was preceded in death by his brother, M. L. Clark; and sisters, Alsic Clark and Essie Clark Normand. Melvin is survived by sons, Jimmy Clark (Stephanie), Terry Clark, and Steve Mobley, daughters, Sharon Mobley and Dorothy Eisworth; and grandchildren, Ashley Dick (David), Jimmy Clark Jr. (Jennifer), Heather Thompson (John), Jennifer Thomas, and Christopher Higginbotham (Angelina). He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren, The family would like to thank Dr. Timothy Durel, Ochsner Medical Center staff, and The Carpenter House staff for the care and comfort they provided Melvin and his family. Visitation will be held at Walker Baptist Church on Friday July 13, 2018 from 9am until Celebration of Life Service at 11am, conducted by Dr. Richard Blue and Rev. Russell Hinson. Burial will follow in Walker Baptist Church Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.sealefuneral.com
