Michael M. Taylor, 47, a resident of Zachary and native of St. Francisville, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Michael Taylor was born on September 10, 1973 to Gloria Minor and the late Harry Minor, Sr. Mike dutifully served West Feliciana Parish for 20 years. He was a retired lieutenant from the West Feliciana Parish Sheriff's Office, and a School Resource Officer where he enjoyed community policing and serving the parents, students, faculty, and staff of the West Feliciana Parish School District. Mike leaves to cherish loving memories: his loving wife, Karolyn Taylor; devoted mother, Gloria Minor; six children Auslyn Taylor, Christopher Taylor, Brennan Taylor, Daelyn Weaver, Tristen Jones, and Julius Jones; four sisters Natasha (Sam) Eames, Rozelia (Warren) Clark, Audrey (Willie) Bowie, Vivian (Andrew) Smith; seven brothers Jeremy (Krystal) Minor, Darryl Minor, Russell (Jackie) Minor, Hallie (Ernestine) Minor, Clifford (Suzzette) Minor, William (Amy) Taylor, and Harry (Lucy) Minor, Jr.; two aunts, Betty Johnson and Annie Johnson; father and mother-in-law, Raymond and Beatrice Jones; one brother-in-law, Tommy (Ivory) Lloyd, III; a godson, Trey Eames; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. The public viewing will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of St. Francisville, 12404 LA Hwy 10, St. Francisville. Masks are required. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, funeral services will be held privately for immediate family only. Services will be live streamed via the church's YouTube Channel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation in Memory of Michael Taylor or the Michael Taylor Scholarship Fund. All monetary donations for the scholarship fund should be submitted to the Bank of St. Francisville at P.O. Box 818, St. Francisville, LA 70775.
