Mitchell "Murphy" "Bro Tate" Tate, Jr. entered into eternal rest at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet on Thursday, February 25, 2021. He is a native of Sunny Hill, LA; a resident of Baker, LA; US Army veteran having served in Vietnam; a Baker Community activist; served in the Deacon Ministry at New Pilgrim B. C.; and retired from Industrial Electric Motor Services. Viewing at New Pilgrim B.C. on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 4 to 6 pm; viewing resumes at the church on Friday, March 5, 2021 from 9:30-11:15am; due to COVID-19 restrictions a private service will be conducted by the Reverend Dr. Derrick Williams; interment at Louisiana National Cemetery. Survivors include his devoted wife, LaClede Tate, Baker, LA; daughters, Carmelia (Terry) Bynum, Brusly, LA and Tiwana (Chris) Rayburn, Baker, LA; siblings, Don (Deborah) Tate, Bonaire, GA; John (Lorena) Tate, Baker; Murray (Lottie) Tate, Sr. and Alvintrue (Donald) Bolden, Baton Rouge, LA; and Ruby (Rev. James) McClay, Plaquemine, LA; grandchildren, Madison, Akeiya, Kiara, Kristen, Kasey and Reginald, Jr.; five great-grandchildren; host of other relatives and friends.
