Monroe Wheat, age 95, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 5, 2021 in Colyell, Louisiana. He was born on March 30, 1925, loved Jesus, and was a member of Colyell Baptist Church. Monroe "Beagle Man" Wheat was an avid hunter. Monroe is survived by his children Debra Schexnayder and husband Raymond, Sandra Wall and husband Stevie, Barbara Edwards and husband Preston, Patricia Reinninger and husband Ray, and Charles McMorris and wife Sheryl. He is survived by one sister Lila Mae Newsom, eleven grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren, and nineteen great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Irene, parents George and Ollie Wheat, and grandson Daniel McMorris. Visitation will be held at Colyell Baptist Church Friday, January 8, 2021 from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 9-11:00 a.m. Religious services will be conducted by his great nephew Douglas Dalgo II, Bro. Jeremy Glascock, and Bro. Craig Forque at 11:00 a.m.
