Patricia Louise Willis Fanguy passed away peacefully on September 14, 2018. She was born on July 13, 1932, in Ruston, Louisiana, to Marian Louise Sellers Willis and Harrell P. Willis Sr. She graduated from Ouachita Parish High School in Monroe, Louisiana, and attended Louisiana Tech University. She moved with her parents and brother to Houma, Louisiana, at the age of 19 and attended Nicholls State University. She then married and raised a family in Houma until 2004. After the death of her husband, Patricia moved to Baton Rouge to be near her daughter, where she was an active member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church. Patricia worked as a secretary in various jobs periodically throughout her life, but the job that she was proudest of was as Fitness Director for the YMCA in Houma from 1981 to 1991. She loved dogs, cats, gardening and camping. After retiring, she bought her own pickup truck with a 5th wheel travel trailer and took many camping trips around the country with her grandchildren. Patricia is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Harrell P. Willis Jr.; and her husband, Andrew J. Fanguy Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Fanguy; and her three sons, Gary Fanguy and his wife Renee, Andrew "Johnny" Fanguy Jr., Jeffrey Fanguy; and by six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Patricia's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation and thanks to everyone in the Reminiscence Neighborhood of Sunrise at Siegen and to Hospice of Baton Rouge. All of the caretakers have been very caring and comforting to Patricia while a resident at Sunrise. There is a special place in Heaven for you. A memorial service will be held in Houma, Louisiana, pending further arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Capital Area Animal Welfare Society (CAAWS), Baton Rouge, LA.
