The kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of precious, priceless pearls. When he found one, he sold everything he had and bought it. (Matthew 13:45-46). Our precious, priceless "Mother Pearl", "Granny Pearl", and "Great Granny" Pearl Achee Callender passed away peacefully on Monday, August 7th, 2017; three weeks short of her 93rd birthday. Pearl was a faithful child of God, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was born in Lakeland, LA on August 30, 1924 and was a lifelong resident of Port Allen. Pearl is survived by her children, Thomas J. (Jimmy) Callender IIl and wife Jane, Les P. Callender and wife Terri, John Keith Callender and wife Robin, Karen E. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you enjoy a family outing together, bless someone in need or donate to , in memory of Mom. Special thanks to all the staff and caregivers at Nottingham Regional Rehab Center and In-His-Care Hospice Services who provided unending love and assistance to our Mother.
