A beloved son, brother, father and friend, Philip Joseph "Phil" Muscarello Jr., passed away unexpectedly and peacefully in his sleep at his home on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at the age of 54. He is reunited with his beloved wife Pammi and joins his father "Big Phil" and many other loved ones for all eternity in the Kingdom of our Lord. He is survived by his son Philip "Joseph" Muscarello III; his mother, Mamie Jean Nicholas Muscarello; his sisters Toni Muscarello Tucker and Joni Muscarello Leggio all of Baton Rouge; his brother Sammy Muscarello (Anne) of Placerville, CA; nieces, Lacie Leggio Brown (Matt) of San Antonio, TX and Sarah Grace Muscarello of Placerville; nephews Nicholas Goff of Baton Rouge, Michael Muscarello of Placerville; great-nephews Benjamin and August "Gus" Brown of San Antonio; special friend Jamie Gately; and numerous relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Pammi Sloan Muscarello, his father Philip Joseph Muscarello Sr., paternal grandparents Samuel and Anne Muscarello, maternal grandparents Anthony and Sarah Nicholas. He was born in Baton Rouge and graduated from St. Thomas More Elementary School, Catholic High School and Louisiana State University. He then joined his father in 1986 who mentored him to become a well-respected life and health insurance broker who provided a unique and personal level of service excellence to his clients. He then established and built the very successful PJMI, Inc. Phil was a man of broad interests and deep knowledge, yet he enjoyed life with the curiosity and excitement of a child. He treasured LSU game days and Mardi Gras Season. He was honored to serve as a member of the Krewe of Orion for nearly two decades. Phil cherished escapes to the beach and river, and had a deep passion for live music. He was a tireless supporter of the Baton Rouge Blues Society and the local music scene. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pam Sloan Muscarello Memorial Endowed Scholarship at Catholic High School in Baton Rouge. Visitation will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Baton Rouge on Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Stephen Parker, Jon Reine, Kenny Shutt, Randy Thibodeaux, Anthony Leggio, John Sloan and Johnny Cardenas. Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Wethey and Greg Arbour. On behalf of Phil, the Muscarello family asks that you spend time with your family, soak up some sun, indulge in music that moves your soul and make a toast to enduring friendships lifelong and beyond. That is what Phil would wish for you.
