A resident and native of Gonzales, departed this life on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at The Crossing at Clarity Hospice in Baton Rouge, LA., He was 74. Visiting at Hambricks Family Mortuary on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 5PM until 8PM and on Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 9AM until service time 10AM at St. Paul Baptist Church, Conducted by Pastor Lauthaught Delaney, Jr. Interment in church cemetery. He is survived by His devoted and loving wife of 49 years, Gloria Williams Bailey, His daughter, Kemlyn Bailey-Lomas, bonus daughter Juanita Denise Favorite, and one chosen son, Kenrick Nixon Sr., (2) Granddaughters; KoiEles LomasSpurlock (Dallas, TX) and Kiana Lomas, and future grandson, Donovan Hewitt. (2) loving siblings; his sister, Geraldine Bailey McMeller (Gonzales, LA), and his brother, Clyde Bailey, Sr. (Los Angeles, CA). (2) Goddaughters; Cynthia Ricard Johnson, and Ashley Ricks Sanders (2) Godsons;Geron Payton and Joshua Ashford. (2) Brothers in-law;Robert Ricks, Sr., and Leo Wilson, Sr., (6) Sisters in-law; Gerri R. Carter, Brenda R. Aikens, Katherine R. Bennett, Tamala R. Dandridge (Donald), Linda R. Duplush (Malcolm), Deanna B. Ricks, and JoAnn Williams. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Promise Sr. and Adelene Bailey, (2) sisters; Hilda Bailey Wilson and Billy Bailey Buchanan, (2) brothers; Emile Bailey and Thomas Bailey, and his maternal and paternal grandparents. His father and mother in-law, William Ricks, Sr. and Deloris Mulberry Williams Ricks, (4) brothers in-law; Harris Williams, William Ricks Jr. and Joseph Ricks and RoseveltMcMeller (4) nephews; Charles and Donald Bringier, Leo Wilson, Jr., Jimmie C. McMeller, and many other loved ones.
