Ralph J. Daigle, Sr., native of Gonzales and resident of Prairieville, was born on March 2, 1936 and passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at The Crossing at Clarity Hospice. He was 82 years old. Ralph was a U.S. Air Force Veteran who retired from the Engineering Department of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development. A proud member of the Istrouma High class of 1954, he was also part of the EA football chain gang for over 30 years. Over his many years in Ascension parish he coached youth sports, sang in numerous local church choirs, met many people throughout the parish while doing flood surveys and was a former roadie for the Na Na Sha Band. Ralph is survived by his wife, Patricia Labat Daigle; daughter, Candace Daigle Nemmo and husband Jimmy; 3 sons, Ralph J. Daigle, Jr. and wife Becky, Blane Daigle and wife Tonia, Darrin Daigle and wife Nasrine; sister, Sharon Daigle Lavigne and husband Hubby; brother, Carson Daigle; 9 grandchildren, Bryce, Derek and Kade Daigle, Kalyn Daigle Ashmore, Alyssa Daigle Gestring, Austin Daigle, Matthew Nemmo, Laila and Amelia Daigle; 2 great grandchildren, Logan and Paislie Daigle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Felbert (Shomp) and Bernice Bourque Daigle. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Sunday, August 19, 2018 from 5:00 pm- 8:00 pm. The visitation will continue Monday, August 20, 2018 at St. Mark Catholic Church from 9:00 am – 11:00am. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow in Hope Haven Cemetery, Gonzales. Pallbearers will be Bryce Daigle, Derek Daigle, Kade Daigle, Austin Daigle, Matthew Nemmo, Logan Daigle and Jimmy Nemmo. The family sends a special thank you to the staff at The Pearl at Jamestown and The Crossing at Clarity Hospice. If desired, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
