A very proud WWII navy veteran having served on a mine sweeping wooden ship in the south pacific, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 9, 2017 in Iuka, Mississippi at the age of 93. Ray was a native of Grosse Tete and a longtime resident of Port Allen. He was a member of the American Legion and participated with the military funeral honor guard. He was retired from Formosa Plastics. Dad was the most loving father and frandfather and a pretty good gardener. Some of his favorite times were spent fishing or hunting with his sons and grandsons. He is survived by his daughter Kay Brown (husband Randall), sons Mark (wife Carolyn), and Rodney (wife Messie). Grandchildren Ashley Barber (husband Jason), Jeff Brown (wife Robin), Dylan Brown (wife Chelsi), Ian Murry (wife Danielle), Heather Murry, Tyler Murry, Devin Murry and Jordanne Murry. Great grandchildren Slade, Maddox, Julianne, Lawson, Ashton, and Jase. Preceded in death by his wife of 68 years Doris Falcon Murry, his parents Edgar and Lucy Murry, brother Edgar, sisters Mary Bourgeois and Mae Murry.. Visitation will be on Monday, November 13, from 5-9 at Wilbert Funeral Home in Port Allen. Visitation on Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church at 8:00am with funeral mass at 9:00am followed by burial wih military honors at Grace memorial in Plaquemine. Pallbearers will be Jeff Brown, Dylan Brown, Ian Murry, Tyler Murry, Devin Murry, and Jason Barber.
