Roy "Peter Blue" Smith was born October 12, 1944 to the union of Samuel and Mabel Smith. Roy departed this life, Saturday, September 1, 2018, he was 73. He accepted Christ and was baptized at Greater New Guided Baptist Church. Years later, he joined Community Bible Baptist Church where he remained an active member. Roy was a graduate of the 1962 class of Capitol High School and attended Southern University A&M college. He was a serviceman in the United States Marine Corps and Vietnam Veteran. Blue enjoy a long career as a salesman in the automobile industry. He loved his community and gave of his time and resources to various little league teams and community organizations. Roy "Peter Blue" Smith leaves to cherish his memory 6 children, 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 5 siblings and a host of friends and family. He is preceded in death by his parents; Samuel "Teedie" and Mabel Smith, siblings; Myrtle Smith, Sylvia Freeman, Mary Carney, Hazel Williams, Ray Smith, Earl Smith and Joseph Smith. Viewing will be held, Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until religious services at 11:00 a.m. Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church, 9700 Scenic Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA 70807. Officiating minister Pastor, Lee Wesley. Interment Louisiana National Cemetery, Port Hudson, LA.
