Ruth went to her heavenly home on Monday, October 9th, 2017 at the age of 82. She was born in Halley, Arkansas on April 18th, 1935. Ruth was a loving wife who gave her husband 62 wonderful years of love and compassion. Ruth was an amazing person and was someone you could be proud to call friend. She was very hard working and a successful entrepreneur who started and operated an asphalt company that her family still runs to this day. Ruth was one of the best cooks around. She made some of the best pralines and red gumbo in the south. Ruth also loved to garden in her spare time where she took care of her beautiful roses and flowers. Ruth is survived by her husband, Billy J. Clark; daughters, Rebecca "Becky" Clark, Deborah "Debbie" Clark; son, Terry Clark and wife Kim; grandchildren, Christopher Clark and wife Alicia, Lyndsi Woodward; great-grandchildren, Cole Pierce, Brady Pierce, Nathaniel Clark; brothers, Charles Burchfield and wife Kathy, Bob Burchfield and wife Peggy, Jack Burchfield and wife Debbie; as well as her Yorkie, Julia. She is preceded in death by her parents, Oba Burchfield, Allean Johnson Burchfield; brothers, Bill Burchfield, Larry Burchfield. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, Hammond, on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. Brother Jeffrey McCarroll will officiate the service with interment to follow in Wetmore Cemetery.
