Vivian Daniel

Vivian Daniel died on July 6 at the age of 90. She was born in 1927 in Lincoln Parish, Louisiana to Grady and Myrtis Colvin. She graduated from Louisiana Tech University and married John I Daniel, III. Together, they lived around the world in support of his 30 year military career, and raised four children. Vivian was an avid bridge player. She was a longtime member of St. John's United Methodist Church, and the AQ chapter of P.E.O. In 2007, Vivian moved to St. James Retirement Community, where she enjoyed her time with friends and playing bridge. Vivian will be remembered for her gentle and kind spirit, her beautiful style and charm, and her love of family. Vivian is preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter Sharon Daniel Fife, brother DeVon Colvin, and grandchildren Victoria Daniel and Nathan Eaton. She is survived by three children: Janet Riley (Roseville, CA); John Craig Daniel and wife Patricia (League City, TX); and Connie Kamerling and husband Steve (Kalamazoo, MI); as well as seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sister-in-law Sue Kruse and husband Reinhard (Philadelphia, PA). A memorial service will be held on July 11 at 10:30 am at St. James Place Retirement Community, Convocation Room, with a reception to follow. A private interment will be held. The family thanks Amedisys Hospice and St. James nurses, aides and staff for the care provided.
