Wendy Lynn Martinez Amedee, born April 8, 1972, left this world on September 10, 2021 due to complication from COVID. Wendy was born to her proud parents Henry John and Lydia McManus Martinez. She was a 1990 graduate of Zachary High School where she lettered in Girls Basketball. She attended Southeastern University in Hammond, LA. Growing up Wendy loved participating in basketball and softball and had an aggressive, competitive spirit about her. Wendy worked at many different types of jobs in her work career, but the one she loved the most was her last job. Everyone there, employees and customers, knew her as Ms. Wendy…the lady with the beautiful smile that would do anything she could for you! Her heart was on full display every day that she was serving others. She was a kind, loving, and devoted friend and was truly loved by everyone. Wendy leaves behind for us to remember and love, her three sons, Luke Ingram, Brock Grayson, and Blake Edward Amedee. The boys were the pride and joy of her life! She also leaves behind her parents Henry Martinez and Lydia A. McManus and her brother Jason and wife Tiffany Martinez. Aunt Laura and husband Jason Latino, Uncle Kenny and wife Cyndi McManus, Uncle Dan and wife Molly McManus, Uncle Joe and wife Rosy Martinez. Also, former husband Randal Amedee. Daughter-in-law Sierra Amedee and one very special granddaughter Scarlett Rose Amedee. Plus, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Preceded in death by her grandparents George I. and Madeline McManus and Joseph and Emma Dean Martinez. Uncle George R. McManus, Aunt Margaret Martinez Lambardo, and Barbara Martinez Rush. Visitation will be at Foster Road Baptist Church, 11333 Foster Road, Baton Rouge on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021 from 9 am until service at 12 pm conducted by Wendy's brother, Jason and Bro. Mike Morris.
