William Nathaniel Hutchinson passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Harvest Manor Nursing Home in Denham Springs, LA. William was born on October 5, 1941, to Fred S. and Maxie Gill Hutchinson in Tangipahoa, LA. He was a resident of Zachary, LA. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Lou Ann Williams, his three sons, Bill "Redd" Hutchinson and wife, Denise, Robert Hutchinson, and Chuck Hutchinson and wife, Tracey, grandchildren, Fallon, Lane, Casey, and Spencer, his two sisters, Becky Hutchinson Domiano of Independence, LA, and Martha Ann Hutchinson Wilson of Osyka, MS. He graduated from St. Francisville High School and attended Southeastern Louisiana University. While at Southeastern, he was a left handed pitcher for Pat Kneeley and the Lions Baseball Team. He went on to play semi-pro baseball. He was employed and retired from Ethyl Corporation as an electrician after 27 years of service. After retirement, he worked at Magnolia Creek Golf Course which he truly loved for 12 years. The family would like to thank Jeff Russell for all the time he spent with "Quickdraw," as he was known there. He loved you like a son. William was an avid hunter and fisherman, but his true love was baseball. He was manager and coach of the Baker Little League Organization for many years. His skills on the BBQ pit were legendary and he enjoyed cooking for family and friends everywhere. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred S. and Maxie Gill Hutchinson. A celebration of William's life will be held at a later date.
