William Thomas "Bill" Heflin, 74, succumbed to cancer on Thursday, August 9, 2018, at the Carpenter House Hospice in Baton Rouge. He was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School and Louisiana State University. A longtime resident of Port Allen, he is survived by his children from his first wife, Bonnie Walker Holliday; son, William Thomas "Tommy" Heflin of Galliano, LA; daughter, Colonel (USAF) Kristin Heflin McCoy and husband Jason McCoy of Columbus, OH; and daughter, Kendall Heflin Holderith and husband Tom Holderith of Baton Rouge; sister, Lynne Duvernay; brother, Don David; and six grandchildren, Ryan Heflin Schexnayder and Dillon Heflin, Molly and Connor McCoy, and Brennan and Beau Martin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julie Ourso Heflin; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Lee Heflin and Mrs. Marilyn Shipp; and brother, George David. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, August 13, 2018, at the Wilbert Funeral Home in Port Allen, followed by a private burial service at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery in Brusly. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Joseph Hospice Foundation, 17732 Highland Road, Suite G, Box 241, Baton Rouge, LA 70810.
