Carol Sherry Simmons Wax, born August 7, 1937 was called to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at the age of 83. Sherry graduated from Gonzales High School in May of 1955 then married the love of her life, Ted Wax, Sr., on July 16, 1955. Sherry was the designer and owner of Ratcliff's Florist as the third generation owner of this long standing business in Gonzales. Ratcliff's remains family owned since 1945. Sherry was the heartbeat of her family showering everyone with love and kindness. She adored her family and was overjoyed with always hosting family holidays and gatherings. Sherry is survived by her 2 children, Ted Wax, Jr. and wife Darlene, Sally Wax Henry and husband, Dickie; grandchildren, Theresa Templet (Lawry), Kristina Guillory (Toby), Davey Decoteau (Rebecca), Caleb Decoteau (Jodi), Ashley Decoteau (Jory Villar); great grandchildren, Brant Templet, Victoria Templet, Austin Mire (Roni), Kyndal Guillory, Tyler Guillory (Brooke), Braize Decoteau, Dason Decoteau, Kate Decoteau, Cullen Edmonston, Gracie Decoteau and Jerzie Decoteau; 3 great-great grandchildren, Tripp Guillory, Tatum Guillory and Tobi Leigh Mire; sister, Lynn Howard (Donald); sister-in-law, Emily Patterson (Bob); nieces Donna Roberts (Todd), Terri Klick (Tim) and nephew, Bobby Patterson (Illa). Preceded in death by parents, Fred and Gwen Simmons and husband of 60 years, Ted Wax, Sr. The family would like to thank the staff and friends at Magnolia Assisted Living along with the nursing staff of MedPass for all the love, care, support and friendship given during her residence there. Also thanks to Clarity Hospice for their love and care. Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 from 10:30AM until service at 12:00PM. Burial will follow at Lusk cemetery. Pallbearers will be Davey Decoteau, Caleb Decoteau, Cullen Edmonston, Austin Mire, Tyler Guillory, Donald Howard; honorary pallbearer will be Jory Villar.
