A retired mail clerk for Trinity Episcopal Church in New Orleans with 20 years of service, she died at 8 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at her home. She was 74, a native of Lottie, a former resident of New Orleans and a resident of Baton Rouge for the past 10 years. Visiting at Winnfield Funeral Home on Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 9 a.m. until service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Paul Counce. Interment in Roselawn Memorial Park. Survived by her mother, Rose C. Virdure; sons, Teleray M. Boykins and Eugene Irving Jr.; three grandchildren, Kamron Porter, Teleree Anderson, 24, and April Boykins, 22; and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her father, Bennit Virdure; brother, Oliver Thorton; maternal grandparents, Louise and Manuel Campbell; and paternal grandparents, Fannie and James Virdure.
