A native of Brooklyn, New York and resident of Baton Rouge, she died of cancer at 5:35 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013 at the Butterfly Wing, Hospice of Baton Rouge. She was 66, a volunteer and retired Research Librarian with a Masters in Library Science from LSU. Survivors include her son, Starr McAuley Long and wife Eugenie Bagur Long; sister, Sondra Bondar; brother, Howard Klein; and grandchild, Anais Elisabeth Long. Preceded in death by her parents, George Jacob Klein (d. 1963) and Esther Ruth Klein (d. 1997); husband, Max Cary Long (d. 2003); and sisters, Barbara Lottie Brown (d. 2005) and June Francine Klein (d. 1980). Donations may be made to Red Shoes or Hospice of Baton Rouge.
