Eva Lucille Partin Stubbs Holden, 98, passed on to be with the Lord while peacefully sleeping, with her family around her Saturday, May 25, 2013. A resident of Denham Springs, she was born on April 15, 1915 in Natchez, MS. Born at home, her birth certificate was not filed until a year later, so all of her life she was "legally" a year younger. This was an envy for others-but all in fun. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all of her heart and believed in witnessing to all she came in contact with. She gave willingly of herself, having 8 children of her own, and raising others as well. Widowed twice she was married for 40 years to J.B. Franklin Stubbs, Sr. and then for 21 years to Stanley William Holden. She was a CNA and previously worked at a nursing home and at OLOL Hospital, before retiring from her work at Greenwell Springs TB Hospital. She was known for wonderful home-made biscuits. She loved her chickens, and worked in her garden until well into her 90's. Her bright blue eyes did not dim with age. Visiting will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd on Tuesday May 27, 2013 from 5pm until 9pm. Visitation will continue on Wednesday May 28, 2013 at Sandy Creek Baptist Church in Pride, La. from 10am until funeral services at 11am, conducted by the Rev. John Stoop. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Pansy Stubbs Setton Stoop and Jack Stoop, a step-daughter, Millicent Holden Robertson and husband, Jewell Robertson, four sons and three daughters-in-law, Charlie W. and Catherine "Kitty' Stubbs, J.B. and Joy Stubbs, Johnny Ray Stubbs, and Thomas Wayne and Darlene Stubbs. She has 28 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, and numerous great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by son, Sam Earl Stubbs, daughters Tena Roberta Stubbs and Sadie Stubbs Tremont, and parents Henry Partin and Carrie McGraw Partin. Our thanks to the many friends who have been faithful to visit her through the years and to Key Home Health and St. Joseph's Hospice for their help in her home care.

My grandmother was truely a women of God! She was and still is loved by sooooo many. AS she was definately known for her "biscuits" she was also known for her big heart and love for everyone. We all have memories of her throughout her life and will never let those go, there is one that is forever burnt into my heart because it was because of her that i started a walk into my journey with the Lord. Though my heart is broken that we have parted on earth, it gives me comfort knowing that i WILL see her again and i know i will see those blue eyes smiling welcoming me home. I LOVE YOU GRANDMA!!

So sorry for your loss. She was such a grand lady. I know she is in a better place now. She loved the Lord so much. She was a lot like my own mother. I felt blessed to have had have had in my life. She truly made my Uncle Stanley happy in his later years.
They were brought together by the grace of God. Eva Lee
