Alice Wilma Harding, 83, of Kenner, LA, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013. Alice was born on September 17, 1929, in Baton Rouge, LA, to the late Edward A. and Leila (Sheridan) Harding. Alice was a graduate of Notre Dame University and Xavier University. She relocated to the New Orleans area after many years as a School Sister of Notre Dame. Alice retired from Jefferson Parish School System after more than 30 years of teaching. Alice was a real estate agent with Gertrude and Gardner in Kenner, LA. Of the things she enjoyed, she loved traveling, drawing, painting with water colors, collecting fish sculptures, and being "Aunt Alice" to her many nieces and nephews. Alice is survived by her sister Leila "Cookie" Riley of San Marcos, CA ; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by "sister of the heart" Gayle Compagno; "nephews of the heart" Donald Dubroc and Colby Compagno; and "niece of the heart" Julie Compagno Wilkerson. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward A. and Leila (Sheridan) Harding; brothers: Edward "Bubba" Harding and William "Bill" Harding; sisters: Elizabeth "Libby" Badgely, Carolyn "Ninie" Moore, and Janice H. Frosch. Alice will be missed dearly. A celebration of life will be held at Divine Mercy Catholic Church at the St. Elizabeth site on 4121 St. Elizabeth Drive, Kenner, LA on Monday, July 1st at 10:00am followed by a memorial mass at 11:00am.
